One of the few sports that actually works good for my body since my injury is thaiboxing. Here I can have more control over my “own” body instead of Bjj, mma etc where I need to go close contact with the bodies. In the thaiboxing it´s not the same bodycontact so it works good for my back.
But. Of course my back is extra sensitive sometimes and get pain anyway. So then it is only to take it easy, to rehab, take walks and rest when needed. Yesterday it was a really sunny and nice weather here in Norway where I am right now.
So Tiago, my fiancé, gaved me some Pt-training outside. That was really nice. Today it´s raining so I will stay home and work. But with chocolate, coffee and nice animals running around outside it is a good day anyway. 😉
So yesterday Tiago had his first BJJ (brazilian jiu jitsu) class here at Kamphuset in Norway. And they seem to LOVE it! My backinjury is still hurts sometimes so no gi for me. Mostly it is the floor/groundwork (like Bjj and submission wrestling) that is hurting extra for me to do if I’m not having attention. But there is movements that works good so mostly I helped T to be his “assistant”.
The place here is so big- over 1000 square meter for gym and martial arts! Awesome! Now we are eating waffles and will relax before the Bjj tonight.
Today it´s a windy but warm day. I´m waiting for Tiago to come home so we can eat and then go to the gym. I love the gym here in Santarém but the only thing I am actually missing is someplace where I can climb up and do my “monkey/street-training”. Hehe.
Since I was a kid I´ve always climbed up in trees and places wherever I could try to get up in. And to hang there, be upside down, go around, lift up, jump etc – that was my best playground and it still is! = But because of the gym dosn´t have that here I think it is good because of my backinjury is not 100% yet so I think it is good it´s not there to tempts me. =P
My tennisball, sauna and walking will be my best friends today: I´ve got some bad triggerpoint at my trapezius (I guess if I feel my body good enough). It get worse all the time- can´t sleep (wake up every 5-10 minutes of pain), can´t move, can´t barely breathe without feeling extreme pain and so on…
I should give training to Maria today but as I said, I can´t almost move. But she comes with me to the gym to relax and she will jump into the pool and jacuzzi and I will probably stay in the sauna. And after that we will take the car to her grandma, eat some lunch, drink coffee in this amazingly beautiful day that is today and then go back home so I can work at the computer a bit.
I´ve got great advices about my back of my friends on facebook- thank you all! ❤
My back if a bit sour today so I took it easy at todays training: only warm-up with the row-machine and stretching. Or, I did some training for my calfs and abdominis as well but only light training more for the bloodcirculation.
I´ve had some tough days the latest. Sleep and dream bad, short patience, dont eat so good etc… Not so fantastic no. But it is just to keep on going forward and do the best I can in all situations. The good thing with some “bad” days is that I at least is learning from it even if it is frustrated to feel “bad”. 😉
Time to plan the music for the tomorrows dance class!
Last training was in the pool. One hour and ten minutes in the water to be precise. Great training that my body soooo need…
And here in Portugal you need to have this nice swimming cap when you are in the pool. In sweden it is no need to have it so for me- this was the first time that I became this “good looking”! ;-P Haha!
Above: Tiago is trying to kick me down in the water? =P
Below: I was a bit sour in my back after the back & neck-workout I did the day before my pool training… But it feels good today. I LOVE to be in water- I feel safe, happy and in a good mood everytime I am in the water. ❤ After all this I took sauna 25 minutes. Lovely. ❤
Yesterdays training was for my back. I did the boring gym-machines (it so boring but I need it!) and ended with some more fun exercises as Superman (women!) on a “half ball” with 3kg dumbbells each hand and 2 kg weights on each footwrist.
And after that, some “superwomen” with twisting my upperbody as much as I could and with straight arms. Tough one, for the whole body! But fun! 😉
Ps. It has been storm here in Portugal tonight with a tornardo!! I will put out some pictures tonight or tomorrow. And from the training I did today in the pool.
